Chipotle-Teriyaki Rump Roast Jerky

Picked up 5.3 lbs of rump roast at Penn Dutch.

Ready to slice



Did it all by hand


Whew. All done.

Added the jerky juice and chipotle powder

Bagged up.


Flipped it every 12 hours for two days


Ready for the OBS

Into the belly. 2 hours of hickory @ 140



I brushed it with a little soy vay teryaki sauce before dehydrating.


All done.

Nice batch! I actually use the Soy Vay as the marinade for my jerky nuggets. It gives a great flavor and not over salty ;D

Thanks all. I really like the Jerky Juice for muscle meat.   The flavor was good and the teriyaki brushed on top gave it a sweet 'n smoky flavor with a little lingering heat.  My first time using rump roast for jerky, seems like a bargain to me at $3.59 Lb.
