Can you freeze smoked fish? How long can smoked fish stay in the frig?

TomW

I've got 10 pounds of smoked steelhead salmon in the freezer right now.  I keep a couple of packages in the frig, cause the wife likes smoked salmon on her spinach salad.  I don't know how long it'll keep, but I'm sure it's a couple of weeks.

Do you have the frozen fish in vac bags or freezer paper?

Jim O

I've kept vac sealer salmon and trout in the freezer for over 6 months and it's still great!

Hi Tom,
A week or so ago I opened a vacuum bag full of commercially smoked and sliced cold smoked salmon. I had completely forgotton it as I buy these catering packs in bulk. It was 12 month old and the contents was still as good as ever.
My wife wouldn't touch it bein a  fussy female so I had some great lunches and snacks over the holiday period.
Don't worry my friend.
Best Regards,
