Anyone tried this? Suggestions? Ideas?

Sounds like a good idea.  I made some chili and wanted to incorporate smoke flavor to it.  After reading the evils of smoking raw hamburger in the forums I decided to give it a miss.  This might do the trick.  The only thing I might consider it the appearance of the beans after smoking.  Let us know how it worked out.

Yeah, Liquid smoke just doesn't taste the same!

Hmmm - topping some chili is how I used up some cheddar that I applied too much smoke to.  I expected the chili to hide the smoke flavor of the shredded cheddar, but you could still taste some smoke.  Now, if a guy really planned it that way, makin some heavily smoked cheddar just for toppin chili ........  Or for use in a smokey mac and cheese ........
