Hi all!

I'm brand new to smoking, got the Bradley digital 4-rack from my wife for Christmas (early, I know! woohoo!) and can't wait to get started on my first meal.  I'm thinking ribs.  Too cliche?  I'm going to go hunt for the best rub recipe but if anyone knows of one let me know!

This link might be able to help you with your ribs

Bacon is the Crack Cocaine of the Food World.

Be careful about calling yourself and EXPERT! An ex is a has-been, and a spurt is a drip under pressure!

We love the jan's rub on ribs and about any thing. This is the link to the regular which we use mostly. Their is also a spicy one.

Hey, welcome to the forum!

Just to jump on the bandwagon, Jan's Rub is good stuff, and 10.5's rib pictorial is worth many thousands of words!

Still pretty new to smoking, but I have had really good results with ribs so far using the above, and the rub works really well on chicken too!

May be kind of obvious, but get the best you can afford/find for your meat. I've done ribs three times so far, twice got them from a local butcher, once got the meat Costco... We usually find Costco meats to be pretty good quality, and the ribs from there turned out good, but the ribs I've gottten from the local guy have been great!!!

There's lots of other good recipes at susanminor.org as well, and lots of good info on here as well. Be sure to have a good look around and ask questions if you need help. It's a pretty helpful group on here it seems, quite a few regulars with lots of knowledge! ( I'm not one of them, I am usually in lurk mode :-[ )

Hope you enjoy your new smoker!

Lots of crazy good Rubs out there alexcd.  Some are commercially produced. Some you can mix up yourself from various recipe websites including the recipe website at www.susanminor.org  Take a look over there as it is a recipe website for folks who own Bradley Smokers.  Many of the recipes over there have been developed by Bradley owners specifically for the Bradley.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.  Questions?  Don't hesitate to ask.

if I were you I would stay away from Jan's rub by far it's the most horrible worst tasting rub I have ever tasted, and I am a LIAR, do it make it in 5-10 b batches if you can. I seem to always make mine over and over and over again!!!!!!!
"Telling you to invest in smoking your own jerky because buying it so much was getting way too expensive was the worst thing I could have ever done to us, now look at the monster I have created!" :-)
