How Much Rub?

Hey guys I'm doing 8 Butts next week for a birthday party. I'm going to try Jan's Rub for the first time. Just wondering how much I should make up to do 8 Butts using the original recipe.

Depends how much you're going to put on! ;D  It does make a lot, but never hurts to double it up...you're going to be using it a lot! I always make a double batch because my son comes over for his supply.

Double it and you should have plenty. If you triple it beefman is going to want you to send him some  ::)  ;D

I tripled it, get the butts tmrw. Ill let you know how much I have leftover.

gl, I found that the batch of Jan's Rub I made several weeks ago was about enough for 4 eight pound pork shoulders.  I applied Jan's, refrigerated the shoulders over night, then put in the smoker.  The next go round, I'm planning to apply a second light application of Jan's before the shoulders go into the smoker, so may only get three shoulders per batch. 

I think your triple batch for eight butts is going to be about right.  And it never hurts to have a bit of rub left to dress the pulled pork for serving, either.
