If anyone hasn't tried these it is a must! Making 14 of them for friends and family for a weekend beach trip.
A quick rundown: boil eggs (make more than you think). I use Jimmy Dean loose sausage, usually maple and hot sausage. I'll make hamburger size patties, drop some brown sugar in them and wrap an egg. Now here you can do a couple of things. I will roll the scotch egg in various different flavored rubs.  This time I've breaded them with the rub mixed in. When breading I coat with a raw egg!

those look very good  question do the eggs seem to dry out some while the meat cooks and would it be better to be closer to a soft boiled egg

They are good! However, I'm trying that next time. I've done these numerous times, and love them like this. But wanna try to soft boil them on he next round!

Those look great. We make these over the holidays, only we fry them. How long did they take in the Bradley?
I just spent $12 K on this Honda Accord! Why can't it tow my boat?!?

Looks good. Do you care to share the recipe and how long did you smoke them and at what temp?

Ditto - I've gotta do this!

looked these up on utube. some use a soft boiled egg and they look good. it seems the best way to cook the eggs is  bring to a boil 1/2 to 3/4 inch water in sauce pan  place the eggs in gently and cook/steam for no more then 6 min.  place under cold water to cool completely and then peel. looks like it works

I bet these would be good using ground beef instead of sausage.
Life is short. Smile while you still have teeth.

I agree, it would be a change to the flavor profile. different spices can be cooked at the same time   aaah so many options        also must add sauce pan needs close fitting lid
got a load of riblets in the smoker now getting close to table time, but i'am home for a few days and I think scotch eggs are on the menu for tomorrow or Monday.

I think the one we do uses half ground beef and half Italian sausage. I think just beef would probably be great.
