New to Bradley, smoked two chickens yesterday using alder... Was fantastic!  Everyone enjoyed!  However the door thermometer is totally inaccurate... When I removed it and placed it into boiling water it did not say 212 F...... It was way off.  So I have ordered a replacement but I am wondering if this is a common problem.  Thank you,  Diane

i am not sure if it is common to be that off. But it can give "false" readings. By this I mean the meat can block the thermometer and it ends up reading lower than what your meat is actually seeing. I use a Maverick thermometer and put the probe undet the lowest meat I am cooking. In fact, I didn't like the door thermometer getting in the way when I loaded up the cabinet so I took mine out and plugged the hole with washers, a bolt and a nut.
