Looking to see the best way to clean the thermometer located inside the smoker.  Lots of caked on stuff and suspect it can't read the temperature correctly through all of the gunk.  What is the best way to clean the thermometer?  I clean the racks, drip tray and wipe down the door seal.  Aside from that, figure it'll ruin the seasoning.

Thought about using Isopropyl alcohol or standard white vinegar to clean it up.  I'm a tad OCD when it comes to things that need to move or sense stuff.

THoughts?  Commeants?

Thank You

Thanks.  Tried just a scrubby pad, has a few years worth of gunk on it.  Decided to try white vinegar and it shined up real nice.  Not sure if it helps or not but, I feel better about it.

I use isopropyl alcohol swaps, or pieces of paper towels soaked with isopropyl alcohol. For the built up stuff I will cut scotch-brite heavy duty scouring pads into 2-inch squares and use those with the isopropyl alcohol, then wipe down with a paper towel.

The clorox wipes are good.
I use one on the probe and gasket on the door  after each use

Will try to locate the swabs.  Have the scrubbies.  Appreciate the feedback.
