Well, i did have a vertical water smoker, which was great until it got crushed by a wooden sleeper.

Sounds very similar to how I started out many years ago apart from my water smoker being crushed by a wooden sleeper!
Had Bradley’s for over 15 years now... enjoy.

For us members across the pond, what in the world is a "wooden sleeper". The only thing I can picture is a fallen tree. If that is the case, back in November a fallen tree just missed one of my cookers.

A solid oak railway sleeper (railroad tie), they weight about 100kg or 220lb, i was building a garden wall and had it leaning vertically against a wall

That is also a name for railroad ties on the side of the pond. But I couldn't picture how a railroad tie could take out your smoker until you explained the situation.
