I just bought my Bradley Smoker and i live in Sioux City, Iowa where it gets COLD. Should i put it away for the winter?

I live near Placerville, CA.  Regularly freezes, but not as cold as where you are.  I have mine under a covered porch and smoke stuff a couple of times a week.  Why put it away?  You bought it to use it!

Thanks for the reply. I guess your right, why go without the great taste until Spring.

Larry,

I shovel a path on my deck to be able to use it throughout the entire winter. Iowa may be cold but northern Indiana is just a few degrees further north & we have to deal with lake effect snow.

Ya think next time I check into a hotel & they ask "Smoking or Non?" they would mind?

I've yet to fire mine up, up here in Spokane...but I will for sure!
We've got 4 inches of snow here at my house.  Temps in the 20's tonight (11/30/04)-I'll put it on my deck under the porch cover - it will be cold but it will be out of the wind!  Maybe I'll buy some dryer exhaust tubing and vent it out my garage window??

I thought about the same thing with dryer tubing but it might give the garage a pretty good oder.

Fuzz-man,

Good to hear from you! Where are the new pics? Let's see that little castle in the snow![:)]

I think you're going to need some sort of suction fan to adequately vent the smoke. I tried it in my garage with a standard vent hood & it only removed about 70% of it. Had to open the overhead for a few minutes every couple of hours.
