But the box temp part still works. It's the food probe that is fried. If you don't have another meat thermometer, then you will have to guess.

Can I use the box probe for the food probe if I stick in the meat?

I've never tried -  It's really not long enough, I would make sure I put it in point down and at a 45 degree angle to prevent meat juice from getting into it.

aha - now I see what arcs meant. - meds...

The DBS box temp displays tend to run about 30-35 degrees hotter then the Maverick displays so I guess I could adjust by using that variable.  I always believe the Maverick reading over the Bradley.

Well, if I had "Tim the Tool Man" putting all those SS screws in my neck with the associated sewing job, I'd be on that too.   :o

Get well soon......

You know, this proves my meds are working....

I better stay away from electricity for awhile....   :D

I hope both of you get well soon.

the green scratchy thing in the sink is the only thing that gets damp and touches the probes.  water is evil on those things.

We have some info on Maverick problems and the solutions on our website in the support area I believe.

If you get bad probes, or if they GO bad, even if it's your fault, it's my experience that Maverick will usually just send you new ones. Just call them on the phone, if your unit is "recently" purchased, they usually just send them to you for no charge. We are a dealer and they won't let us replace them to customers for free ...they make US pay for them ($12.00)but if the end-user / customer calls, they almost always just send them. Hope this helps some people.
