Here is the new member to the Giz house hold.  Mrs Giz couldn't resist.  She went to a Dog Festival, which is an event to place dogs from shelters.  The Mrs found that most of them had so many strings attached that it made you wonder if these places were really trying to get the dogs into homes.  Does someone really need to be home all day long for a dog to have a happy life?

She found this one on the way out the door.  Family had a litter of 12 and couldn't keep them.  It is a boxer sharpei mix but should be a good companion.
Other than a little whining, it has been mostly sleeping as you can see.  :)

I agree with you about the rescues. My daughter does some fostering and the rules they have makes you wonder, not to mention the costs. Makes you think that it's easier and cheaper to buy a pedigree pup.

I know what you mean about the strings, we are starting to look for a dog and have gone back & forth between a rescue dog and buying a lab.  Some of the applications for the rescues are pretty intense.

And I'd like to make this the first place that I introduce all of you to our newest family member.  This is Tater!  I normally wouldn't choose what pup I wanted this early but my wife has fallen in love with this little gal, so this shall be Taters!
