I thought I saw some posts about using a cardboard(paper) box to house the smoke generator and then use a dryer vent hose to pipe the smoke to the cabinet. All I can find via search is wood.

Is it safe to use a corrugated paper box ?

FLB, That's what I use and have no problem. I know I got the idea from here.

The cardboard box smoke box it very safe. Just make sure where you cut the hole for the generator none of the guide rail assembly is touching the cardboard.

Hmmmm, someone must be doing cheese.  ??? ;D

FLBentRider

It's gotta be cheese, don't have the lox ready yet...

Here is my "setup"

16lbs of cheese - 8 sharp cheddar, 8 pepper jack

3 hours of apple loaded!

FLB, Good to see your setup and great looking cheese. I haven't done the cheese smoke yet but the lox come out supreme. :)

Looks good FLB, don't eat it all at once.  ;) :)

I don't plan on it, this should be the "stock up" supply for a while. I still have some left from the December 3 smoke.

Looks good FL!

I'm going to do some today also but no cardboard box required.  It's -2 right now.  I'm waiting for it to warm up a bit before I venture outside.

Deb, only -2 send some of that heat my way.
It was -20 this morning here.
No need for a cold smoke box here this weekend.  :D
