When I get to the point of having a bubba puck on the burner, and want to extend the cooking time a little, is it okay to turn off the smoke generator and keep the tower heat on (if it's even possible?) I'm guessing my other option is to finish off inside in the oven??

Either way works - it's all a matter of preference.  Lots of people use the OBS, an oven, a grill, or a Big Easy, to finish after smoking.

Hi Kingdom Smoker and welcome to the forum.

Lots of people leave the smoke generator turned on the whole time. The element in the burner plate is 125 watts and will help to provide additional heat. Plus, with the Bubba puck on it, it will tend to burn it clean. Really just depends if you want the extra heat or not.

Once the smoke is done you certainly can move to the oven or grill depending on what your doing. Many options.  ;)

Tanks for the replies....just want to make sure the first smoke goes well without something I'm not ready for!

Ka Honu

Probably the only thing you won't be "ready for" is how great stuff tastes coming off the OBS.
