Has this happened to anyone else?  My SSR is stuck on suppling an output to heater with the input disconnected even.  Just ordered a replacement.

Hi Starship

The only one that I have heard of that failed was mine. I was building my first PID and had a bad SSR right out of the box but it would not allow any current through it at all.

I have never heard of anyone else having any problems. I would send Auber an email. They are really good at replying very quickly.

Let us know how you make out.

I can not say enough good for Auber!  My PID was bad out of the box new, I sent it back (after email troubleshooting) and they cover postage, repaired and sent it back.  And then the SSR failed.

Long story short, I am pressed for time, and want to cook not trouble shoot controls. So I ordered the programmable "Plug & Play" and emailed them and explained why.

Then THEY insisted that I send PID back and they are refunding my money.

This company has my full trust and respect.

That's excellent Starship!  ;)

Sorry to hear you had the problem but it really is nice when you have the pleasure of dealing with a company that cares and has a high level of customer service. Auber, like Bradley, truly do have customer service second to none.  ;)

Did you have a heat sink on it?

starship

Yes, a big one.  With no heater connected and thus no current, the output voltage was stuck on.
