I have smoked Almonds & they didn't last long around the house. The hands just keep coming back to the almond jar. My next project is to smoke some pecans. My question, is there any recipe out there that I can soak them in any salt mixture brine to give them a different flavor?

Here is one for ya. This is for the oven then into the smoker.

1 cup Sugar
4 cups Whole pecans
½ cup  barbecue spice mix recipe follows

1¼ cup Paprika; plus 2 tablespoons
3 tablespoons Chili powder
1 tablespoon Ground cumin
1 tablespoon Ground coriander
1 tablespoon Sugar
1 tablespoon Salt
1½ teaspoon Dry mustard
1½ teaspoon Black pepper
1½ teaspoon Dried thyme leaves
1½ teaspoon Curry powder
1½ teaspoon Cayenne pepper

Preheat  oven to 300 degrees. Place sugar in a medium saucepan and add 4 cups water. Bring to a boil over high heat. Add pecans and cook for 5 minutes. Remove nuts and drain.

Place nuts in a greased sheet tray and sprinkle barbecue spice mixture. Place tray in oven and roast for 15 minutes., stirring nuts occasionally. Remove tray from oven and transfer to smoker.  Cold smoke for 20 to 40 minutes.

For barbecue spice mix: Mix all of the ingredients together. Store in a cool, dry place .
