Post by: classicrockgriller on November 01, 2009, 10:50:13 PM
I've been using my jerky racks to smoke everything on.

Am i hurting them any? They sure clean up easier.

Bradley may have made improvements in manufacturing. The set I purchase some years ago began peeling shortly after I started using them.

I've had mine two years and have been using them on everything with no problems until I cooked ribs on them a couple weeks ago.
Some of the coating peeled of in a few spots when ribs touched them.
Don't know it was just their time to go or maybe the BBQ did something to them.
I still recommend them though  :)

Mine started peeling right away as well.  I bought 8 of the high temp jerky screens from Bryan at Y&P that go on my racks each and everytime they go in the Bradley.  I also use the high temp screens in my Traeger.  Those things rock!  Easy to clean and nothing sticks to them.

CRG and HR, I would highly recommend them if you haven't already purchased them.

I have 12 of them and that's all I use.

I put the original racks back into the box the jerky racks came in.

My jerky racks were short live. Not a happy camper.

The black is coming off. Wonder how much of that I ate.

The ones from Homer Depot seem to hold up well.

CRG,
Sorry to hear that.  How old are they?

Have you ordered any of the high temp screens from Y&P?  You will be happy with those.  They fit your Bradley racks perfectly.

As long as the ones from the Depot are from Bradley they are the same ones we carry.

CRG,

As KyNola said I would highly recommend the high temp screens. They are great and you can use them for everything.

Brian, I have seen those and they look nice.

Ky Nola, they are about a month old. I bought racks instead of screens cause my 8rk propane smoker needed 4 more racks.

Live and learn.

CRG,
That's about how long mine lasted until I noticed little black specks on food and then figured out what it was..

Spend the money and get the screens.  You have my word they are well worth the cost.
