Hi All,
This is my first effort at posting a pic . . .

This is a photo taken last October of Kathy and me with my grad students at a meeting in St. Malo, France. In case it's not obvious, I'm the distinguished older gent on the far left, and Kathy is the the beautiful lady who barely looks older than the students, on the far right [;)].
Don't have any good pics of the whole family together, but should have some at the end of May when we'll all be together for my oldest boy's college graduation.

me and micki at the anheuser busch hops fields near bonners ferry idaho...
this place is 5mi from canada... in a valley... cascades to the west... tetons to the east... the huckleberries were ripe... black bear... moose... elk... deer... would come down to the edge of the hops fields and eat the ripe berries... a very cool place...
these vines are perhaps 10 or 12 feet tall... at harvest they chop down the whole vine and remove the hops... the hops are sorted and shipped to the breweries... 90% of all a-b hops come from here... the other 10% come from holland...
at the breweries... once the hops are used... big rigs take them away to dairy farms where they are used as a mix for dairy cow feed...

Here I am with my 3 year old grandson. I don't race any more because of the cost and it's like an obsession. You always want to go faster which means more money.
Brad
Ditto on that. I raced my Acura NSX twice a year and ouch! Still have it, but haven't driven for 2 years now. Friend is coming back from Iraq in November and buying it. Off for about $27K in motor and suspension work (Ex Navy Seal-Let's say Government contractor in Middle east and coming back with lots of money for his toys), and then he will drive back to NY to race it.
He has a new one he doesn't want to race, and my 91 Coupe was a real screamer. Before I dropped gear ratio to 4:55 from 3:07, I took a picture of the speedo buried at 188 MPH out in the Nevada desert one day I just had to test the top end. It was putting out about 350HP at rear wheels for 3000 lb 3.0 L. Motor. It was a screamer. Now has 226K miles on it, and still doesn't leak oil. After the gear coversion, in it's day would do mid 11 second quarter mile. Suprised a lot of kids with their Cobra Pony cars and scooped hood Camaros. I am 60 now and reaction time is just not that good any more.
I traded my Hummer H2 in for one of the little 390HP SSR Chevy pick-ups, and just enjoy the sound of the motor with the top down. It reminds me a lot of the 32-34 Fords we used to build in the 60s when I was in High School. Like a hot rod with a warranty![:D] Kids all grown, of course, so don't have to have a vehicle to transport little ones anymore!

Happy Holidays, Guys and Gals!
I thought I would go ahead and post up a picture of the new, but in progress, me. I broke the 249 lb. barrier yesterday. Down from 386 llbs last October.
I am swimming outdoors about 1.5 hours every other day, walking about an hour daily, and lifting weights every other day, and of course, eating much less. MUCH LESS!
How do I feel? The shirt says it all! I am organizing a sky diving thing in the spring. Have to lose 24 more pounds to jump. You know, I just have to jump one more time before I croak! Did it in the Army, but never again. It has been about 40 years...Hopefully will have a group of ten, and of course, to bribe participants to attend, will being a pork butt for sandwiches and beer afterwords. 15K foot jump runs about $175, and the endorphins are priceless!

How do you post a picture?
If you PROMISE not to post any pics like Owrstritch's, I'm sure olds will explain it in its easiest terms...(what kind of parades to you attend anyway Owrstritch?!?!?! ;) :D)
From a Mac perspective, I first upload my .jpg file to www.photobucket.com, then I cut/paste the IMG link directly into the forum post.....pretty simple and only requires that you sign up with Photobucket (free!)...but remember, DON'T go to any parades with Owrstritch! :o ;) ;D
Kummok is right on spot about how to post an image. On the bottom row of options when you are posting the second button to the right from the left is your image tags. Click on it and the just paste your URL address between the tags.

Look at the wear on the tile floor. This is a frequent spot for the Silver Smoker.
The smoker is on (full throttle it looks), pucks in, light colored, but no smoke?
hmmm. Maybe he is waiting till the smoke smells starts to confirm its working. I dont it before.
Blowin one into the shrubs? I'd never do that--just ask my fishing partners! As for a table well, the BS has a permanent spot by the front door but my partner would put her foot down if I boosted it up onto a table! Only in Arkansas are you allowed to put your smoker on display by the front door ;D.

While I do handload and occasionally shoot all-brass shot shells (for style, ya understand)...I was shootin' black powder substitute handloads in Remington Nitro hulls that day. It was during our territorial championship, so there wasn't a great deal of time for tending to real brass shells.

Hi smokerman
Go to this place: http://photobucket.com/ and get yourself registered (it is free but you need an account - I have not gotten lots of extra spam since using so it is ok and used by many on the forum),
Just follow the instructions on the photobucket screen and your set. There is a box to click i did not notice for a while that lets you do clickable thumbnails or you can do the size for forum boards.
When you insert the photo into your post it goes between the brackets that come up in the post when you click the insert image icon.
Click preview before you click post and you can see how it will look when posted.

smokerman as West Coast Kansan said you have to have your image on a server somewhere before you can link it for posting. Once that is done and you are going to post an image then on the second row of options in the posting screen, second button to the right will insert the image tags-- click on it. Just place your link between them. For example I will use the
< > brackets instead of the tag brackets
[ ] so you can see what I'm talking about:
<img> http://www.photobucket.com/YourUpLoadArea/YourImage.jpg</img> If you are still confused E-mail me your images and I will host them and then E-mail the coding back to you and then all you will have to do is copy and paste what I send to you in that E-mail into your posting.
E-mail them to
[email protected] Now I run a filter on my server so if you do send them you will get a message asking if you are a real person. Just follow the simple directions in that E-mail and once you do you will be added to my white-list and I will then recieve your images.

Nice looking sail plane. I wanted a experimental airplane or a motercycle... but Susan put her foot down so I ended up with an MG Midget... I just showed her your plane and all she said with a tone in her voice was... "Good for him..." LOL~~!
Obviously, not everyone has looked closely at Bigfoots' photo.........
He just discovered this board from his Bradley Smoker on Alpha Centauri. The wormhole he came out of is by his head (and you thought that was a reflection on the canopy..... fools..... his is still inside the space-time capsule and being reflected out through metamaterial nanolaminates). His return path is obviously on the nose of his transporter.

Where abouts in Canada were you goose hunting?
Mike
Fisher Branch, Manitoba. My Brother does a guided goose hunt there every year and I went with him on a couple of the trips. The guide is originally from Nebraska and has been guiding in a Canada for probably the last 15 years. I t was a great trip. Lots of geese and ducks as well. Wish I could go with him every year, but don't have the cash flow to be able too.
Terry
We go to Cranberry Portage, Manitoba every year in the spring on a fishing trip. It's a fair bit north and a bit west of Fisher Branch. It's actually only about 9 & 1/2 hours from where I live here in Saskatchewan. There is alot of goose hunting here in Saskatchewan as well. Lots around the Cabri area just northwest of Swift Current.
Mike
Hey Bi Red...is a Husker like a Seminole??? :) :) Probably not I'd suspect!!! Sorry...I went to Florida State!!
No, A Husker is usually much better than a Seminole ;D Just kidding, lately we have nothing to brag about, and I think the Seminoles have gotten the better of us more often than not. Especially in 1993 Orange Bowl for the National championship. When did you attend?
AH....um...a long time ago...come on Big Red...I'm a chick...I'll lie...it was (looking at you and your wife in the pics) uh...some time back...:) :) Come on...I'm old!!!

Yeah, the REAL fox is in the last pic! ;) Really a great set of pictures, Westernhunter-quite a bit of good shooting there. Thanks for posting.
Thanks guys. Yep, she is a keeper. Looks like she will be keeping this westernhunter out in the East!! (I am from Washington state and came to Philly for dental school and now I am in Pittsburgh doing an Endodontics residency program.)
I hunt for geese on both sides of PA, near Pittsburgh where I am doing my residency and over near Philly too. These geese were killed on the eastern side of the state. I had a great season.
Western,

Look at you go. They actually let you jump first shot? I thought you would have to do a tandem first or something like that.
Nope
Same day. 5 hours of ground school
I had to wait another 4 hours for the winds to calm and I was having second thoughts on the ground and in the plane
Was fun but I dont think there will be a second jump !
All of my kids have jumped several times and wanted me to do it.

I wear a full ghillie suit. every thing is camouflaged. My mask my snorkel and spear gun. They are smart fish. You need every edge you can find. I have a camera built into my mask that will take videos of the hunt. I just get kind of busy when I am hunting and forget to turn it on some times.

Up here in Ont. Canada we call them snakes. Most people don't keep them simply for cleaning the Y-bone out of them. I have caught pike 30- 35 lbs ice fishing. Still don't like them slimmee b*stards ;D
As far as eating if filleted right they are much better tasting than Walleye which is the prefer ed fish to catch where I live. Since I got my smoker I tell everyone if you catch pike I will take all you can bring me. They are excellent smoked. I also can them with tomato juice and it taste like salmon ;)
Don
I have smoked them and they are great if fresh but they do not store well in the fridge. I had not considered canning them. I have a cocktail sauce that I can salmon in that is great on crackers and fish patties. I never thought about canning the pike in the sauce. I am going to have to give it a try. I am able to fillet them boneless. I have had lots of pratice. I might try canning a batch to See how they work out.
let me dig out that fish canning sauce recipe. You might like it a lot. I know several guys that have canned the steal head trout in this sauce.
