Hi all.

Is it normal for the Bradley temperature sensor to read 40-50 degrees lower than my Maverick ET-73 sensor??
I have my Maverick heat sensor placed just above my meat in the smoker and it's reading 230 degrees. My Bradley sensor is only reading 185 degrees.
I'm trusting the ET-73 for now.

Thanks

I check my maverick probes occasionally with the boiling water method to make sure but have found them spot on whenever I have checked them. I would certainly trust them over the stock Bradley thermometer.

I would put the maverick probe just below the meat instead of above it. The moisture evaporating from the meat as it cooks may be lowering the temp reading. Your tower temp may be higher than you are seeing.

Thanks for the replies.

I moved the probe below the meat and it never changed, remains 40-45 degrees higher yet.
I did compare my Maverick probes against my manual meat probes and they were spot on.

I just never would have thought there would be such a big difference in temperatures.
