Is it just me or have any of you been experiencing a slow response on the forum? I seem to be getting a lot of "Waiting for bradley smoker forum" comments on the bottom of my screen. Things seem to be really slow when moving around in the forum. I am trowing it out there just to see if it is my computer or something with the forum main frame.
I'm the wrong person to ask, being on dial up, I feel like Ka Honu!
I've noticed a few times that I had to wait - I just opened another window and did some work.
No, seems fine to me on this side of the pond.
I have noticed it running slow also. Speaking of issues with the forum.
Everything is ok on my side.
Working OK here. Sometimes it takes several seconds for a post or PM to complete, otherwise OK.
Thats when I notice it the most is when I am replying to a PM. Although I did have a thread time out on me last night.
Just got this message when I was trying to respond to a post:
QuoteConnection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.
The forum has been running like this for a couple of weeks now, but this is the first time I got that message.
Hi Ten point
I am see the same thing you are here in NJ

I have noticed it replying to PMs as well as posting.
It's just
sometimes though.
I have a fast connection, so that ain't the issue.

Lucky you because the drugs are kicking in and I feel WONDERFUL!
I am also having trouble with my PM's being forwarded to my email. Out of my last 15-20 PM I have only gotten 2-3 in my email inbox... ??? ??? ???
intermittent here, when it slows i close and reopen..helps for a while.
I kinda figured it was Big Brother, then realized it was Alton and some of the others
looking for some different reciepts ;)
seems ok here.
Yep, sometimes times out and comes up with a time out page when going between pages. I close the browser and go back to the forum, it helps.
Been working fine for me.
Been working great for me, and sometimes i am logged on on three different computers at work at the same time. Just depends what part of the office I am in at the time. My private office I am signed in most of the day, when I float around the office on other computers I will sign in and I never have a speed problems.

SLOWWWWWW on every post since yesterday. Thought it was my laptop.
No problem here...
It was horribly slow for me last night (around 9-10PM Mountain time), and I just sent a PM to 10.5 at 8:33AM Mountain time - and it took about 40 seconds for it to go through and the page to load.
I will give Bradley a call this morning and see if it is something the IT guys can figure out and hopefully fix.
Slow response time here, too (but I thought it was just me since my synapses don't always fire too quickly).
ive noticed lag every now and again

Any word from the IT Dept yet Brian? I am experiencing many of the symptoms that others are having.
Thanks
Hello Members
The IT Dept was not able to find anything unusual yet.
Is there a specific time that this is happining?
If this happens to you could you record the time (c/w time zone) that it happens and roughly what is happening
and send me a email on it
This will give our IT some more info to try a narrow it down.
Brian.

Try sending a PM that is when you really notice the delay. It happens for me at all hours of the day when I am on. I will say it has gotten somewhat better here lately, but is still happening.
Hi Chris
Just sent you a PM had no problem at all
I have never had the problems that are described here.
I've had intermittent slow responses. I just went to open a post and got:
Page created in 49.755 seconds with 23 queries.
Upon hitting 'Reply', not 'Post' to this thread, I got about the same time. This occurred about 1545 EDT.
I too have been seeing intermittent slow responses for more than a week - comes and goes. When it's slow the status in the lower left of IE8 shows waiting for reply from ...
Oh oh, I think I'm being punished.
After my last post above, I no longer get the two links at the top of the page for 'Unread' and whatever the one is for showing posts I have posted in.
I've tried a number of things including a logout/login. It knows who I am.
This is the second time today those links went away. Any ideas?
I have been seeing slow responses again this evening. It is intermittent though.
Just had this happen:
Page created in 23.988 seconds with 13 queries.
9:27-ish PM CST.
Here's my latest, and most extreme
"Page created in 108.591 seconds with 17 queries. "
6:02 am CDT 10/29/10
Beside the problems you guys have posted, I have a different problem here lately too.
On a long post, I lose the stuff I am typing down in the bottom of the post page, I am
typing in the blind. ;D

I have a real smart a-s remark but I will hold my tongue (at least as long as I can.) ;D ;D ;D
However, I run into that also.
CRG, I've had that problem since day one.
I'm not experiencing the long delays that some of you are. Did you pay your electricity bill this month? :D

mine's always done that
That's an IE8 'thing'.. Not sure if there is a workaround or not - other than to compose your post in Notepad or Word or something else, then past it all in.
I too am having problems.

Hi Sonny
That is a IE problem but if you run this website in Compatibility View you should not have the problem with long posts.
To turn Compatibility View on in IE
Go to Tools on the menu bar
Compatibility View Settings
then add Bradley Smoker to the list.
Brian.
