Title: White sauce for chicken
Post by: BigSmoker on July 22, 2004, 07:25:29 PM
A friend shared this recipe with me and I found it to be quite good on apple smoked chicken.  It origins come from Alabama's Big Bob Gibson BBQ.  Use as a dippin' sauce.

1c mayo(I prefer Dukes)
1/2c apple cider vinegar
1tsp table salt
1tsp black pepper
1tsp white sugar
1/8-1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1 Tsp preparred horseradish
2 Tsp Apple schnapps

Whisk all ingredients together refrigerate for 1hr before serving.

Looks great Jeff. I agree it works best on chicken.

I haven't seen a version with schnapps yet, I'm going to try that. Where did you find the recipe, or is it your own version?

Thanks!! It is good to read a complete idea. Rather than just give a name!

I have changed the recipe to suit my familys liking.  The original had to much vinegar for the wife and kids.  You can also sub rice wine vinegar for the apple cider vinegar for an even milder taste.
Happy Q'ing.

Glad to see Old's has gotten his computer mess straight.[:)]
