Title: used bisquettes
Post by: Al Eagan on July 23, 2010, 06:07:02 AM
I seem tio be smoking OK BUT, There is always 4-5 blackened but very solid bisquettes (sp) in the water bowl.  I thought they turned to ash.  Is the smoker malfunctioning

They typically don't turn to ash and remain in solid form.  Sounds like you're right on track.

javascript:void(0); Thanks for the quick reply,  I have been really satisfied with the smoker ( 4 rack digital)

If they burned down to ash the wood would give off some funky fumes and add them to the meat.  Not good for taste.  That's the nice thing about the BSG.  Pure sweet smoke.

About the only puck I have found that doesn't look like it burns right is Special Blend.

The smoke is still good, just looks like it only burns up about 1/2 way.
