Mark
Yes, keep us posted. Interesting concept.
I know this is gonna sound stupid....But!...It's got my interest , what is the purpose ? ???

coyote
It pulls the moisture from the BS when you make jerky, sausage, dry sausage. I think it will be good on alot of smokes.
nepas
I was leaning toward that Nepa , ::) Thanks for the info. Would you use that in conjunction with a
circulating fan or could that replace it ???....Hey, I Told you I wasn't tech. smart along time ago. ;D
Coyote
If ya wouldn't do 65# loads of Jerky at a time, you wouldn't need that thing, NePa.
Just kidding, dude...looks like a neat add on toy.
um i dont think it would hurt to use it with an inside fan?
nepas
;D ;D ;D
hey no problemo TT
Its good we all can have fun on the BF
going to increase jerky output to #100......................shhhhhh dont let AP know :o
nepas
:D
NePa where did you get it from? Do you think it might work as a fan to vent smoke out too?
Mark
Similar concept to the pipe I use to my range hood in my garage. I would think it would work good for any items you are trying to keep the temp down or dry and the air moving. This is why I had to cut slots in the vent pipe on my installation because it would draw too much air through the tower.

Let me know on the vent fan nepa. I have a positive pressure problem on one of my gas smokers when it gets below zero and that just might be an easy fix for me. Thanks Pat.

That looks a nice piece of kit Nepas, very neat ;)
Nice kit. May have to get me one.
NePa
You'll have to let us know if a potentiometer (speed control) can be added to change the fan speed? Don't know that most of us could just buy this and use without modifying it. :D :D ::)
Yes i will giz. Thought i would have it today but got an email saying they are back ordered :( Now gotta do the waiting game.
nepas
Uh Oh,
Next vacuuming day at NePas house it is discovered that the fan motor is missing and the wires are just hanging out the side.
A voice is heard
"NePa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The door closes with a rush of air. Soon NePa returns with an armfull of Ribs, Brisket and Pork Butt, with a sweet smile and puppy dogs eyes and makes the grand offering hoping all will be forgiven and forgoten.
You Gotta Eat -- TIM ALLEN STYLE :P :P
Don't laugh too much Giz. Ann goes through the house every weekend flipping switches and plugging appliances in just to make sure I haven't "borrowed" anything. ::) :D ;D
:D :D :D :D ;D
Man you guys are killing me!
The bad part is that's just like me!

Congrats, now if you can just figure out how to get all those wires stuffed back into the case. ;)
I'll blame it on the cat for getting sucked in it.
But honey i told ya i could fix it to be like a Dyson ::)
nepas
I'm in Houston, and I bought my BS from Allied Kenco. That store is a smoker's dream! I could spend hours and hours in there, just looking around.
Nepa let us know how it work and how you like it when you get it, also won't it suck all the smoke out? cajun
Nepa to change the fan speed just couldn't you just add a reostat like a light dimmer ??? that would speed it up or slow it down :P

yes i think that you could use a reostat speed control, i think its like a 3" pc fan ccw. I have a 4" fan with motor that came out of my old dehydrator that i am going to be putting in my project (whenever the weather gets nice) its an old metal interior frige. i have 500* door seal ,SS racks, vents and goodies for it. even some camo paint ;D
I have the plans from smokehouseplanDOTcom but i am going to do it different ;D
nepas
I'm gonna wait a while and then get my plans from "nepas dot com" ;) Lookin' foward to the
finished product Nepas...Very cool. 8)
Coyote
maybe nepasDOTcom will have the cam going soon. gizmo is helping and i think he just might figure it out. guess i'm going to have to surrender some jerky to him ;D
nepas
NePa, however it turns out I sure admire you effort and determination ;) Was an interesting idea and your all over it - good man 8) and Gizmo is a clever guy ;) Will be great fun when it works.
Thanks WCK ;D
Yeah he is a nice guy, just the few mins we spent chatting i knew. Well the pic of me was taken from the nepas cam, its showing in static like a web cam, just having a time getting it thru the router for all to view. Maybe soon.

Sorry we didn't get together last night NePa. Getting ready to head to the airport for Nashville. Was hoping someone on the board here might be from the area for a get together but oh well. If you take a look at the 2 sections of the manual I mentioned in a previous post, that is all that is left to get you on the internet. Basically, determine what your webcam port numbers are (web port address - suspect you will use the wireless here, and the video port - default is 4321). The description is on page 23. Then set up the the service configuration thru the router.
