Title: NEPAS snow on its way
Post by: pensrock on February 05, 2010, 08:46:43 AM
We are supposed to get 4-8 inches by noon tomorrow. With my luck we will ONLY get the four inches. But since you have good luck on your side you'll most likely get the 8 inches.  ;D ;D ;D You can take the new Jeep out and play.  :)

Heh heh we are so low on snow here that they are trucking snow into the local mountain for the Olympics. That is going to cost huge bags of cash. And to top it all off they are using a heavylift heli logging chopper to take the snow from the parking lot to where they freestylers will be performing. At $10,000 per hour it will cost us so much money that my grandkids will still be paying for it. When they talked about the getting the games they had a vote for yea or nah and the only ones that got to vote for them was Vancouver and Whistler(the ski resort own) none of the other municalitys got a say but the whole province gets to pay for them.

It's very weird.  My kid thought he was going away from the snow when he transferred to a school in Baltimore  :D  My husband has been teasing him all day.

Here we are on  Vancouver island and our local ski area is a 3 hour drive north up island. They have a snow base of 380 cm!! and yet across the strait in Vancouver where the Olympics are--nada! I think Whistler(where most but not all of the ski events are happening) is better than the local mountain above Vancouver where the boarding is happening.

I'll have to look it up when I get home tonight, but you ain't gone bag anything good in Scottsdale except maybe a girl or two.

10.5 I actually think Elk might be going on right now, but if you don't have a tag by now you might as well give it up. They're like gold.

FL - I'm not sure what your schedule is, but let me know if you need a tour guide - or if you want to get together. Scottsdale is only an hour away.

You're in luck 10.5, Elk archery only nonpermit tags (over the counter) hunt is going on from Jan 1 - Mar 31 for units 4A, 4B, 6A, 19A and 21. These are quite a ways north of me, but hey what's a few miles for an elk. I'm not sure if there are any tags left though. You'd have to contact game & fish.

FL - Depending on what unit and weapon of choice here's what's available. Mountain lion, elk, bear, tree squirrel, cottontail rabbit, coyote, skunk, fox, bobcat, ringtail, weasel, badger, sparrow, starling, coati, prairie dog, all mammals except game mammals. Of course most the big game animals require an application be submitted about 6 months ago.

Yep

They are all closed now.

I lived in Fremont for a few years back in the early 90's but that city has some major problems and I got the h*ll out.

We got about a foot and its blowing a lot. Still coming down. I had to take dad to the hospital this morning for eye surgery, when I got home, I cleaned the snow at my house then went to his house and cleaned it up there. Tomorrow morning I have to take him to the doctors office, then work/play in the snow all over again. It has been fun out there in the snow.  :)

Tryin' to tick her (Mother Nature) off?  Just askin'.  If I was in better shape and not scared to death of falling if I slip on ice or snow, I'd be right there with ya yankin' on her chain askin' for more snow.
