Hey guys what kind of dehydrators do you use and what wattage heating element do they use

Hi Okiesmoker

I have the 80 litre Cabelas dehydrator. It has a 1600 watt heating element and also has a blower in it. Works really well. I know there a number of other members that have this model as well. Here's a link with more info on it.

I would use that one as well but for now I am stuck with a Nesco/American Harvest Snack Master Express FD-60.  It has a 500 watt heating element and the temperature is adjustable.  There is also a fan that is on all the time..  I maxed it out with 12 trays.  The round trays are a pain in the axx to fit pieces of meat into efficiently.  It does the job but I think the square boxes would be easier to fit the meat onto.  I think I read something some where that the round design was more efficient and even in drying than the square but there is always a trade off in one way or another.  The Nesco is definatly less expensive.
