Title: Winter storage of Smoker
Post by: Graebeard on October 09, 2012, 12:23:21 PM
I have a 4 rack version and wonder if the door gaskets will handle sub-zero winter temperatures. I store the smoke generator box indoors when not in use, but want to keep the cabinet outside under a tarp. I guess I'm looking for the temp specs on the gasket. Does anyone have access to that info?

Thanks

Welcome !

I keep my Bradley in an unheated garage, and have had no door gasket problems for about 3-4 years.

Our temps frequently go to - 5 to - 20C in winter months.

My smoker has been outside on the deck for two winters now. No problems so far

Be sure to wipe down the door seal with alcohol to remove any sticky smoke residue.  Wipe down the tower with alcohol where the seal meets the tower all the way around the door.  That will prevent the seal from sticking to the tower and tearing the seal off of the door when you open it again.

I've found that year-round use of the Bradley is the best way to maintain its condition.
