How long do you guys do it for?

Ive seen some users do not load pucks until preheating is done- if so, does one need to turn off and turn back on the generator to start a "fresh" cycle?

Usually 10 minutes is enough.   What I do is start the generator.   That drops the 1st puck.   I then advance the next one.   At the same time I've got the power to the tower turned on to preheat it.    When the tower is up to temp I put the food in.  I let it go and after 20 minutes the SG cycles and there is now a puck on the heating plate.    The tower is also up to temp by then and the food is in there.

I turn the Bradley on about 30 minutes before I want to put food in.

I put the bisquettes in when I put the food in and advance them onto the burner.

Advancing the pucks resets the timer.

Me i preheat my smoke gen for 45 min to 1 hour before starting the smoke.

I turn on my generator the same time I start to preheat the cabinet. Then load the bisquettes after I load the meat, or what else I am smoking.

I turn on generator and tower at the same time then load after 30 to 45 min.

I also keep the generator on after the smoke to help with the heat in the tower.

With the bubba pucks on the plate...makes for more heat mass.
