Anyone know how to make a smoker out of a wine barrel? Your help is appreciated

I have a collection of 4 old oak barrels now the largest of which is about 5 ft high, one of my future "things to do" is convert one of them into a smoker along the lines of below although I would like to find an alternative to the up and over door:

Wow, what a fantastic idea. Unfortunately, in a London garden I'm pretty space limited, but a wine barrel would look FAR cooler than my DBS.... hmm...

... it certainly wouldn't have withstood WTS's recent brisket fire though!!!
