Title: Question on circulation fan mod
Post by: Mulla on May 22, 2009, 10:22:33 AM
So it seems that this is the best mod out there.

I have a quick question on why use the aluminum bars to attach to the electrical box?  The box has 4 screw holes that you can use, why not just tap 4 holes into the BS and call it good?  Is the fan too powerful and the aluminum bars create leverage so that the electrical box doesn't get torqued by the motor?

Thanks guys,
Mulla

Hi Mulla;

Welcome to the forum.

The back panel is very flexible, and with the weight of the fan and electrical box it may cause movement during operation. This movement may cause the fan shaft to hit and rub against the hole cut in the panel and back wall of the smoker. Adding the bars as a brace prevent this.
