Anyone have any comments on setting up the BDS in a garage with a cheap ventless ventahood? I saw the pics on another post of a slick setup with one vented to the outside. Wasn't really looking forward to cutting an access hole through my brick. Was concerened about teh ventless and its ability to really dissipate the smoke. It's in a garage but I didnt want it to fill with smoke of bad odors.
Hi Elprez and welcome to the forum.
I have mine setup in my heated garage but it is vented outside. I certainly wouldn't try the ventless or recirculation type as I'm sure it would fill the garage with smoke. If you have a brick exterior you could always vent the hood through the roof. Might be a lot easier than through the brick.

I'm with Walleye on venting the smoke outside. I would think that the ventless hood is only going to blow the smoke around the garage.
If not venting out the roof than maybe a window.
Walleye can you shot some pictures of your set up, that was what i was thinking about doing in my work shop but need to see someone else setup to see how i would do mine!! Thanks...........

AAAHH, One small note here. I HAVE NEVER SMELLED "BAD ODORS" coming out of a Bradley!!!! As a matter of fact my Wife asked me today when I was going to smoke something in the garage again, "The garage doesn't smell good anymore." Was the exact quote. I have a BDS and just run with the garage door open or in the winter I open the walk in door.
I use my Bradley in the garage too. Never had any bad smell from my Bradley the cool blue smoke exiting from the garage is MMMMMM MMMMMM GOOD ;D
And i dont use a vent hood or have it vented through the roof.

I can't smoke in the garage, my son's bedroom is above it, I 'd hate for the smell to get up there and make him any hungrier than he already is :D

Sorry wkahler I never got back to you sooner. I've been away for a few days. Here are some links to my setup with photos. I've changed it a few times over the years as I've added more "stuff".
Let me know if you have any questions...

No big deal i was just had the idea and was wondering if it was safe and id it was possible. i am guessing that it is both seeing as the investment you have in your garage, aka boat truck cars!!

I have tried to make it as safe as possible. I have it setup in a cold smoke setup so that the bowl for the spent pucks is not also collecting the grease from the meat you are smoking. This certainly lowers the risk of a fire.
I have never had a problem with it setup this way.
