Can anyone tell me how to insert a picture on my name to the left of the message like I see others have done? Thanks!
I guess it's called an "avatar"?
Click on Profile.
On the left side of the screen, click on "Forum Profile Information" under the "Modify Profile"
Click on "I have my own pic" and paste the URL in the box to the right.
If you have a large picture, you may need to resample it to a smaller size first. If it is too large the forum may "time out" on you and won't load the picture.

It is a bit hard to tell. Habs has a good point about not making it too large for the download speed.
I prefer the smaller Avatars and Signature lines so they don't take up so much real estate as that takes longer to scroll though to read what folks have to say and for me, that is more important.
The avatar size is not going to get much larger; the forum limits the size that it will display a picture in that area.
As Gizmo pointed out, if you want your photo to be displayed in better detail, add it to your signature line; similar to what I have done. Before you can do that, you must post your picture to a hosting site such as PhotoBucket, and provide a link.
