Title: The Hawk and The Mocking Bird
Post by: Oldman on July 23, 2009, 04:44:22 PM
A few nights back there was a Hawk in a pine tree behind my house. There was a Mocking Bird that did not like the Hawk.

I watched this Mocking Bird scream at the Hawk as he went from branch to branch until he was in a higher branch then the Hawk.

Next the Mocking Bird went up and away from the Hawk. He suddenly did a 180 turn and drive bombed the Hawk in the back of the head.

Think about it... that Mocking Bird could not have weighted 10 ounces. I will be danged but two mornings later the scene played itself out again.

This is the real funny part. Now the Hawk sits on a different branch and the Mocking Bird sits on the original branch the Hawk was on. Plus the Mocking Bird is paying no never mind to the Hawk now...

Go figure. If I had not seen this with my own eyes I would not have believed it.

Sounds like the Mocking bird's point was heard loud and clear and respected.

Love nature and what it brings out.

I enjoy nature also,
i have seen many things while sitting on stand, and have learned that it is the quiet ones you need to be worried about!
while little mockingbird has gotten his way for now......mr. hawk may very well have the final word.
Remember to keep your friends close and your enemies closer!
