Title: New to the smoker society
Post by: fattymcbutterpants on July 31, 2009, 07:17:43 PM
Hi everyone. Just received my DBS 4 today. Haven't even unboxed it yet but that will be taken care of this weekend. I've heard a lot of problems on this board with this thing but I hope I got a good one to begin with.
I just wanted to say hi and I am thankful for this forum and I can't wait to start smokin.

Welcome Pants,
The Bradleys have had their share of rough handling during shipping but they aren't the only ones.

Just received a 5'x15' dog enclosure so I don't have to worry about the puppy digging his way out of the back yard.  It is heavy duty and one of the tubes was dented on the top.  We also ordered a rotating bowl set.  This was made out of heavy duty angle iron.  One of the mounting surfaces was bent at a 45 deg angle and both bowls were caved in pretty good as well.  They sent out a new bowl set and new plastic insert for the tube but I won't be able to insert it anyway.  I recoated the tube with liquid plastic to keep it from rusting.

If you have any questions just ask or do a few searches.  Many years worth of knowledge in the posts and in the people.

Seems to be the shipping companies.  We just tried to buy a refrig from Amazon for my son to take to college and sent two back.  There were dents all over on both but both had damage to the doors preventing one from opening and the second from having a good seal.   I ended up buying one locally and paying more but it's dent free.

Whoops!  the reason I started writing in this thread:

Welcome fattymcbutterpants.

Also,  keep in mind that for all the problems you read about there are many more that work problem free that you don't hear about.
