Those of you in Alaska, have you noticed a drop off of Kings?

Dang!! And all this time I just thought it was T2 catchin 'em all before they got up here!!  ;)

As far as I'm concerned, this is just one more reason to severely restrict the most destructive fishery ever operated...bottom fishing for "fish sticks" (aka: pollock)!! >:(

Is the Pollock fishing in international or US waters?  I HATE netting of fish of any kind.  It's a method for the lazy, greedy and "don't give a d--n crowd".  And I don't care if that netting is by some foreign ship, local netter, multinational conglomerate, illegal aliens in our waters, or even the so-called native americans - it is still a lazy, extremely wasteful way of "fishing", if you can even call it fishing.  I have yet to catch a King and I will be exteremely mad if I am never able to that, because of fish stick day at school!  Years ago, I limited my intake of net caught wild fish.   To be certain, that really limits the fish that one can consume - at least what we can get here in TN.  I'm glad I and my family really likes catfish and trout.  Now if Krogers would stop importing it from China.  Don't give me that crap about being your "friendly neighborhood grocery store" if you can't trade with American Companies with American Products!

Here's a few links to give you an idea of the practice of and devastation of bottom trawling (dragging!):

http://www.alaskaoceans.net/facts/bottomtrawling.htm

There's quite a few environmentalist wacko organizations that are actually just fronts for money laundering but I sure support those that actively and aggressively oppose this kind of destruction....this is literally "raping the earth for profit"!  >:(

Thanks for the links Kummok. Everyone should take a look at this. Makes a person feel a little sick if you really think about it. They just destroy anything in the way of where they go.
