That is a beautiful walleye in your picture!!!! I am guessing 12 lbs or larger? Where did you get her? Even though I am from New Mexico now and the walleye are harder to catch, my former life was in Minnesota. Just curious.
Thanks,
Hi MuzzleTim
Thank you. It's my largest to date, 13.1 lbs. I caught it in late November just prior to freeze up (brrrr...) on Last Mountain Lake here in Saskatchewan. It's only an hour drive from home for me and some great fall fishing. We usually get a number over 10 lbs each year. Unfortunately I haven't been out as much as I planned so far this year but there's still time... ;)

Do you troll for them or use live bait?
Tim
This particular one was caught using a Buzz Bomb. I'm not sure if your familiar with them or not but I believe they originated at the west coast for salmon fishing. They are a type of vertical jigging spoon that vibrate. You work them fairly hard, typically about a 2 to 3 foot vertical jigging motion. Here's a link to a picture of one... http://www.buzzbombzzinger.com/buzzbomb.html#
We do use a lot of crawlers and leeches. Usually in the fall we are either pulling spinners/crawlers or pulling cranks. Earlier in the year we use lindy rigs/leeches.

Mike,
We used to use something similar called a Kast master. We would jig them through the ice and had some good luck, but nothing as big as yours! Thanks for the info, keep up your great posts we all enjoy reading them!
