Title: First brisket in OBS
Post by: joerom on August 09, 2009, 07:34:49 PM
I did a small brisket today(about 3 pounds) and it turned out fine.I used the info from Caneyscud to make it.I smoked for 3 hours, then I put in foil with a little juice for 2 hours, then I put it back in without foil, but with a little sauce. It was trimmed of fat pretty good,so it needed the foil and juice. It was not dry or tough.I used Jim Beam bisquettes again, but I don't really care for them.I just wanted to try with them again to make sure.I preferred the spareribs I did with mesquite.I have most of the bisquettes, and will try them all to see what I like best.
I really like the PID on the OBS.It really keeps the temp at a constant level. The OBS is so easy to use, that as soon as I am done with one smoke,I am already thinking of my next.
