Title: Bottom of smoker temperature question.
Post by: rdevous on August 15, 2009, 03:09:16 PM

Before I do the seasoning tomorrow, I was wondering how hot the bottom of the OBS gets?  I have a plastic table which will hold the weight and is large enough that the unit would be sitting on its legs allowing some airflow under it but would not want to have a meltdown and "Clean up on aisle 3 please!"  :-[  :(

It does not get that hot.

I have mine on a metal stand, but several members here have them on plastic carts/stands.

The bottom is insulated so as FLB states the bottom does not get hot.
