Title: Looking for tried and true jerky recipes
Post by: mow_delon on August 21, 2009, 07:43:15 AM
Hey all
I am in the middle of making up the last of my venison before season opens back up.  I have been making sliced jerky with a soy/worchestershire/bbq/brown sugar marinade and smoking.  Was wondering if anyone has a recipe that is a big hit that they are willing to share.  I have used many different pre-made jerky seasonings and haven't found any that I liked well enough to use again,  but am getting a little tired of the above mix.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

I use Hi Mountain, but just the cure and add:

garlic powder

fresh cracked pepper

It's a hit around here.

I did the jerky in Charcuterie & it was really good.  It was made with chiptole in adobo.  I'll try to remember to post the recipe tonight.
