I got a good laugh out of that! ;)
Unfortunately I had it happen about 3 years ago for real. I dug up a couple of pictures of a brand new boat sitting on the side of a highway on the way to a tournament.....

WE loaded the boat on a new boat trailer, loaded the boat trailer on a flat deck trailer and drove 1.5 hours back to town and got my buddies boat and headed back to the tourney. Needless to say we had a couple of whiskeys that night. ::)
Mike
geez...that'll ruin your day
Mike,
That is so sad :(
And what a beautiful boat, too!
Hope you did well at the tournament though!

Mike,
Did they ever figure out WHY it came off the trailer like that ?

In the first picture you can see in the background the truck & trailer in the ditch. Here in Sask. you are allowed to tow 2 trailers. Having said that... this is exactly why it's not a good idea... Anyway, we were travelling along at about 50 MPH on a gentle down hill section of the highway when we got hit with a heavy wind from the side (possibly a plow type wind). This swung both trailers severely. The truck was literally diving from one side of the road to the other, I had my hand on the brake controller for the travel trailer and once it was back behind the truck I was going to lock up the brakes on it. Unfortunately when it was swinging back it blew 3 of the 4 tires and dumped up onto 2 wheels (almost rolled). This caused the boat and trailer to whip sideways. It swung right around beside the travel trailer when the tire blew and the frame collapsed, rear tie down straps sheared off and allowed the boat to come off onto the highway. It was all I could do to control the truck and not allow it to roll. It was a good thing we were not meeting oncoming traffic at the time because we had the whole road used up... and then some.
... Now we take 2 trucks to the tournaments. ::)

Holy Cow!
That was a fine piece of driving keeping the rubber side down!
