Title: Baked Halibut
Post by: dbrown1 on August 31, 2009, 09:44:23 PM
3-4 lbs. Halibut
1/2 cup Mayo
1 C. Melba Toast stuffing (or bread crumbs either is good)
Parmesan Cheese
Parsley (dried)
Garlic Salt
Salt & Pepper
4 slices Bacon (more if you're 10.5)
1 Lemon

Chunk Halibut & lay side by side in large baking dish.
Salt & Pepper.
Spread Mayo, then cover with stuffing mix/bread crumbs.
Sprinkle Parsley, Parmesan Cheese, Garlic Salt and Lemon Juice (to taste).
Lay Bacon strips on top.

Bake at 350 for 25 minutes, then broil for 5-10 minutes or until brown.
Serve with your favorite side dish (I like grilled asparagus)

My wfe and I LOVE Halibut but can't afford the $16/lb price for fresh caught here in MA/RI.

Have you tried this with any other fish?

I have not , I bet if you reduced the bake time by half you could do it on the cheap with some tilapia though, if you haven't tried that its a great white fish.

That sounds really good, I bet it would work with Striped Bass or what others call Rock fish.

Tilapia is the only fish my daughter will eat, we really like it with lemon butter, some black pepper, cooked on a plank on the grill.

Let's just say they don't give any feed to the Talapia like they feed the Bass. But the Talapia get the undigested stuff!! Sh... Suckers is what we would call them.

Based on what 10.5 said, I would love to hear the ramifications of the movie food.inc in the States.
