Title: How much do the racks hold? (Weight)
Post by: JGW on September 06, 2009, 05:11:56 PM
Ok, I've had the OBS for a few days now.  Works great after the initial fix.

Racks and rails seem kind of.....thin.  How much weight can we put on them?  For example - Can I load a 20+ lb. piece of meat into/onto the racks in the OBS?

I have put 32 lbs of meat in the OBS on 2 racks.

So at least 16Lbs. each.

Ok, good to know.  Figured I'd ask before something terrible happens.  :)

The rails will hold a lot more weight then the racks. I find once you get around and over 12 pounds the racks will begin to flex when you pick them up so as a precaution I will double up the racks for more support.

I second the great idea from HS.
