Hi I am wondering which solid state relay the fella uses on the digital conversion:voltage and amperage. Can anyone point me to the right one.
Hi there,
I am not sure if you are talking about the PID when you say "Digital Conversion" but if you are check this link

Voltage would depend on the output of your controller. Mine uses 110VAC, Regular SSR output controllers I think are 0-12VDC or 0-24VDC.
Amperage I would go with 20-25 Amp.
I use the Carlo Gavazzi RM1A23A25. You can use 20 - 280vac or 20 - 48vdc to turn it on. A word of caution about SSR's to use them at max rated current you have to have a heat sink. At lower current levels if it is screwed down to a metal box you will be ok. You can get them is from smokeitall he is a distributor for Carlo Gavazzi during the day.

Thanks for the info. But i see the web site with the controller already built for Bradley's and it seems pretty good because you can set the temps and duration intervals and let it do it's thing. Have you guys had any feedback on these. I really like the pid mounted in my smoke box but being able to set it like that is worth the extra piece of equipment hooked up or can I take it apart and install it in my smoke generator.
Yea, for $150 you can't beat the Auber Bradley controller and it is plug and play.
If you like to tinker you could build one like this...

A lot of the members here have the "plug & play" PIDs from Auber and have had excellent luck with them. I have 2 PIDs that I built prior to the Plug & Play units being available.
Here is a link from the recipe site with a "how to" on PIDs...

Here is a thread on mounting a PID in the generator if that's the way you go...

Auber does offer the programmable PID if you want to build your own. Here is a link to it...

Here is their TCs...
This is the one I use...

There are some members using this one as well...

Thanks again good info. I'll way the options but I will probably go with the pluganplay one.
