Bear with me . The two songs below game to mind about how the last seven days have been for me and my family.
With a Little Help From My Friends
Writers: Lennon, McCartney; lead vocal: Ringo Starr
What would you think if I sang out of tune,
Would you stand up and walk out on me.
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song,
And I'll try not to sing out of key.
I get by with a little help from my friends,
I get high with a little help from my friends,
Going to try with a little help from my friends.
What do I do when my love is away.
(Does it worry you to be alone)
How do I feel by the end of the day
(Are you sad because you're on your own)
No I get by with a little help from my friends...
Do you need anybody,
I need somebody to love.
Could it be anybody
I want somebody to love.
Would you believe in a love at first sight,
Yes I'm certain that it happens all the time.
What do you see when you turn out the light,
I can't tell you, but I know it's mine.
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends...
Do you need anybody,
I just need somebody to love,
Could it be anybody,
I want somebody to love.
I get by with a little help from my friends,
Yes I get by with a little help from my friends,
With a little help from my friends.
The Long and Winding Road
Writer, lead vocal: Paul McCartney
The long and winding road that leads to your door,
Will never disappear,
I've seen that road before It always leads me here,
Leads me to your door.
The wild and windy night the rain washed away,
Has left a pool of tears crying for the day.
Why leave me standing here, let me know the way
Many times I've been alone and many times I've cried
Anyway you'll never know the many ways I've tried, but
Still they lead me back to the long and winding road
You left me standing here a long, long time ago
Don't leave me waiting here, lead me to you door
Da, da, da, da
Saturday 10/3/09 I save my daughters house from burning to the ground.
Monday 10/5/09 My wife's 10 year old English Mastiff dies.
Tuesday 10/06/09 I cut the tip of my thumb off at work.
Wednesday 10/07/09 My daughter, upset about the relationship with her boy friend, side swipes a mail box breaking her windshield, damaging her car body and blows out her 2 side tires. She did not report it to the police. She might have been drinking.
Friday 10/9/09 My daughter drives to the local bar to get a fish fry to go. She hits another car with her other car. She drives home without reporting it. The police arrive at her home and she has a blood alcohol of 0.08. She is arrested and later released.
Saturday 10/10/09 My Grandson has a foot ball game and wins it. His mother never shows up.
My wife and I attend a 1 year anniversary party of her close co worker's death.
I get a call from my Grandson that his mother is slashing her wrists. I drive home and call 911. She is taken to the hospital and then
committed to a psychiatric ward for a minimal 3 day observation.
I really do not like having to write this. I am asking for prayers not sympathy. I think of the movie ITS A WONDERFUL LIFE when the whole community helps George Baily. That is how I see this forum, as a community willing to support other people. That brings me back to the Beatles song.
I GET BY WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS
Thanks, Brad
Brad....you got my Prayers....right now!
Car54, stay strong brother. You know it is just a test. Sometimes it seems the whole world is falling down around us and then somewhere out of the smoke something good comes out of it. And when you get the chance rest and look backwards, you will see why and it will make sense. I am not a very religious person but you have my prayers brother. Praise be to god. Your in our hearts. be strong and smoke something.
Wow thats a rough patch Brad...I hope things turn around soon...were thinking of you.
SIA
You've got mine, Brad.
Hang in there Buddy. I believe there is a saying that the Lord will Never give anything that you can't handle. Or words to that effect.
You are in our prayers. Stay strong.
Ross
From half way across the globe I send you my prayers; may you stay strong to remain the pillar that you are for all those that count on you.

Brad
Man... sometimes life throws some real nasty road blocks in your way. You just have to negotiate your way through them as best you can. I know you've had to deal with many in the past and probably more in the future but I know your capable of finding the correct detour.
Thoughts and prayers heading your way.
Mike
Brad,
We will all continue to lift you up. Stay strong brother. I have been down a very similar path. You WILL come out on the other side.
Larry
You have our prayers as well with a little extra for the young lady with the problems. I pray that she comes to realize the problem and strives to take the steps needed to get on the right path.
Sorry to hear about your situation. I too will keep you in my thoughts.
We will keep you in our Prayers.
Brad, if there is anything else I can do other than get on my knees for you - please call.
I don't pretend to know the answers and I will not ply you with platitudes that really don't mean much. But what I do know is that for some reason theses things come upon us. But as has been said before, they also do go away - they are not forever. I will pray that you, your family, your Grandson and your Daughter find peace and comfort in this time of fear and uncertainty. May God be with you and May God Bless your Family!
Brad, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Keep your chin up brother there is light at the end of the tunnel, some times there will be some twists and turns between here and there but we all know you will make the best of all this.
Hang in there Brad and keep the faith.
