Hey everybody,

First time poster here.

I have had a digital BS for a couple years now and have had great results with it.

My wife bought the smoker for me one day while I was at work so I could smoke salmon.  ;D Since I live in Kodiak, AK it is pretty easy for us to get all five species of salmon.  :P Looking forward to trying out a lot more recipes

Welcome to the forum skiak.  Lot's of fun and good info here.

It's not easy getting decent salmon here on the east coast.  I just grilled a fillet a couple of days ago.  My wife and I love it - planked, grilled, smoked, poached, and old way.

Welcome, skiak.  I'm in Soldotna and am looking forward to a first time visit to Kodiak next spring for a little hunting trip.

Great bunch of guys and gals here - don't hesitate to ask any question you may have or to share your experiences with salmon!

Skiak, hopefully a BIG spring bear  ;D  I was lucky enough to draw a brown bear tag in the Sharatin Bay area.  Any knowledge of the area?  I am fortunate that my neighbor/hunting buddy has a good friend that grew up on Kodiak and still has family in Port Lyons.  He is pretty familiar with the Sharatin Bay area.  Can't wait!

Is bear any good?  This black guy/gal was slurping up the bird seed last spring.  It was only shot with a camera.

My wife wanted it back so she put out peanut butter and honey sandwiches.  No Luck.  The raccoons got 'em.

Arnie,
I've had black bear in the form of a smoked sausage and it was very good.

Welcome to the fun skiak and be warned this kind of smoking is very addictive.

We dont get any fresh salmon here, but the stuff in the meat dept is allot better than the stuff in the package and it goes for $8.99/lb
