Title: temp. won't go down
Post by: murray on October 25, 2009, 06:34:15 PM
I've had my smoker for about 5 years, never had a problem with it.  Just finished smoking some salmon and when i tried to lower the temp. it wouldn't go down.  I even pushed the bar to the left in the 'off' position and it stayed on.  Anyone have the same problem???   Any ideas?????

thanks

Hi murray and welcome.  Gee, every one else seems to have a problem keeping the temp up.  There's likely a short circuit in there somewhere that bypasses the slider rheostat.  Give Bradley a call on Monday.  I'm sure they can help you out.  You don't want to ruin a bunch of salmon.

When I smoke fish or sausage I use the cold smoke setup or I cannot obtain the low temperatures that are required, because of the heat produced by the smoke generator.

Cold Smoke Setup (http://www.johnwatkins.co.uk/personalpages/coldsmoking.htm)

Bradley also makes a cold smoker adapter as an accessory.
