Title: Preheat
Post by: stantonl on December 18, 2009, 08:44:55 PM
I was wondering what is the correct way to preheat a Digital Bradley. I'm not sure I truly have the steps down right. Thanks in advance for the help.

Larry, turn it on in advance to default setting 280 and let it run.

Put your meat in and the temp will drop

when it starts to get close to the temp you want to cook at turn it down

I usually start my smoke from time I put the meat in to 30 minutes after

Its all good

Pre heat the element in the smoke generator too.    I usually turn mine on 20 minutes before I start the smoke.

I turn both on till it gets to at least 250 F. Then after loading the tower I lower the temp setting to my desired setting.

I guess last night I had a issue with my element not coming on. I disconnected everything and reconnected all the wires and it started working. Kind of weird but it works. I tried the ABT's  last night. Great treat. Getting ready to start some ribs in a bit. Thanks for the help.
