After the Mojo Butts I wanted to try this.
And do this to it
(http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af165/classicrockgriller/103_0371.jpg)
And then do this to it after 4 hrs of smoke.

So I Did
Set the smoker at 200 during nite and after 15 hrs and still cooking I have this
(http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af165/classicrockgriller/104_0973.jpg)
I just started a second round of smoke for two hours.
CRG,
You always keep things interesting. Another change up pitch from the mound. I'll bet you hit it out of the park.
Good luck and varied smoking,
Pachanga
OK, so you 'laid it out' so you could get more surface contact with the smoke?? Sweet.
ron that was the idea. can't wait for this to finish to see what adjustments need to be made.
After 20 hours in the smoker I took it out with an IT of 187.
The bone just slid right out.

I FTM (microwave) and going to let it set for about 3 hrs.
77cents per pound? Great score CRG. Did you put anything in it and wrap it like that or just rub on all sides? Looks great. Wouldn't have thought of doing that. pulling it?
KyNola
Now thats a nice looking butt! ;)
I just rubbed it. It was an experiment too see how much more smoke would get infused.
Looks great CRG! How did you like the finished pork?
HES, it was a fun little project and the results to me were very interesting.
With the added smoke and doubling the bark area, you didn't want for smoke flavor.
After FTC and laying the butt back open.

Shreading the pork butt.

Looks good CRG, I have done that same thing also and it is perty dam good.
I think next one I do I will still smoke it for 4 hrs but just on a lower heat.
I thoght I was going to have to put a ratchet strap on that thing to get it to close back up.
I had to close it and son had to tie it. Of course it got an extra slap for being stubborn.
CRG some close back up with ease and some are a real pian by my self.
Good job there CRG
