Having just returned from overseas i am catching up on the forum. It seems I have missed the drama. One of the first posts I read was from Oldman talking about leaving the forum. I hope i read correctly that you have reconsidered. This forum is 'home' to alot of great people who go out of their way to help everyone new and old alike. Let's not let a few people spoil a great community.
Ok just wanted to get that out there now back to catching up......
Currently Deployed
When in doubt smoke it.
Edit....Back from deployment
welcome back Sir. glad to have you home !!! God bless you for what you do, back to bussness whats going to be your first smoke?
So you had fun at the beach? Guard or Reserve call-up? Active? I got two separate invitations during Desert Storm to come on board. Friends and employer thought I was nuts when I said yes. I am an Army Nurse retired...but 15 years enlisted. E7 transferred from Infantry to Medical in 1972, and E8 when commissioned in 1979. Guess I had been administrator too long...they declined my offer.
Glad you are back safe. I am sure family and friends also glad you are home!
Buddy of mine, retired Navy SEAL LCDR based and living in Green Zone Baghdad. Last heard from him he told me he is eating in the mess hall established in the palace in Baghdad City. He is now a "civilian" contractor doing red team blue team operations there. Commo limited from him, but supposed to be posting up some picks of OPs in Uzbekistan and Afghanistan he was involved with prior to move to Baghdad.
Asked about his personal living accomodations, he told me he is a very small apt. sandbagged outside bottom to top. Much safer according to him then the high profile hotel billets. Asked him to keep an eye out for a nice used Barrett or night scope....think I was asking too much? [8D]
When you are feeling up to it, love to hear some of your experiences. Last time I saw you post, your oven thermostat project inspired me to really get into heat control for the BS. Ended up with a Procom4 and talking Guru Fred P into making the Raptor for control of electrical smokers. Thanks for that inspiration, I really have got the control thing down to the gnat's rear now.
Welcome home.

Harpo,
May your brother rest in peace. Combat or no, he died defending(or preparing to) our great country and has my admiration and thanks. He was a better man than me.
Your sis is a better woman than me too cause you'd hate to see me in a dress! (joking) I hold the same respect and admiration for her as well, tell her thank you from me.
Better yet, invite the whole family over for a big welcome home smoke-fest & I'll provide the wood. Just let me know what you'd like.
