Title: ABT's
Post by: OU812 on December 23, 2009, 03:23:59 PM
Had 1 rack left when I did some snack sticks and some jalapenos I needed to use before they went bad so I split them in half and removed the seeds and stuff, then stuffed them with the old stand by, cream cheese.

Put then back together.

Then wrapped with the good stuff, mmmmmmmmm BACON.

Ready for the smoker.

Good point, CRG.

As a newb (obviously), how long and at what temp would you smoke these at? Also, probably a dumb question, what does ABT stand for?

Welcome dclass!

ABT - atomic buffalo turd

Here's a link to a recipe for them on the recipe site  http://www.susanminor.org/forums/showthread.php?t=25   This recipe might be different than the one here but will give you an idea of cooking temp & times

I normally do ABT's at 220 F, I will smoke for 1hr 20 minutes and continue to cook for another hour or so. You want to cook till the bacon is cooked. Also consider using thin cut bacon. Total time in the Bradley 2-3 hours.

Welcome to the forum dclass.

Here's a link to the second batch of ABTs I've ever done.  It might give you some ideas or info.

As long as you have peppers, cheese and bacon, you have the basics.

Go for it you wont be disappointed.

These were just a quickie cause I had some extra room in the smoker but I normally like to mix some meat in the cream cheese, like 1 lb leftover smoked brisket ground and added to 1 lb cream cheese, or pulled pork, or chicken, or taco meat, or, well you can put anything in them babys.
