The puck advance slider on my OBS is stuck in the extended position.
I hear a click when I push the puck advance, but no other sounds or motion.
FLB
try cleaning the slide with an old toothbrish in case there is some wood particle stuck in the slide somewhere
maybe even pull the smoke generator and give it a shake
I blow mine out with compressed air. Paraffin on the sides of the slide contacts seems to help.
Good luck and slow smoking,

I got to open mine up also. It does not want to return the whole way and when it does that a puck will not fall. It actually does it about every other puck, its a pain cause I have to go look at it every 20 minutes to make sure a puck moved. Sometimes I have to press the puck advance several times till a puck drops.
Mine did that. Once. I brushed it out and hit it with air to clean it. Now I keep it brushed out.
Ditto. I use my leaf blower to blast all the chunks back up and out the tube.. Give it a few whack as well. This same thing happened to me on my first jerky attempt.
I threatened it with tools.
It is now behaving.
I took it off and the smoker and took it apart (easy since it kicks off the GFI with the screws in ??? ) and plugged it in.
The puck advance worked on the first try.
I cleaned off the puck burner and got most of the chips out of there.
Sometimes you just gotta show 'em who's boss! Kind of like women. :D :D :D (obviously Jan's not looking over my shoulder :o)
"What's that honey? I'll be right there". "Why yes, I would love to go to the mall with you". Guess I showed her huh? ;D ;D

I wish there was a Cabelas/Outdoor World/Gander Mtn near the Mall...
Glad you got it going FLBR. The pucks really do 'shed' a lot and can crud up the SG.
